Kayak fishermen have taken their sport to a new level. Interest blossomed a decade ago, and the idea of fishing from a kayak has grown by leaps and bounds.

It was a wonderful weekend to travel to the preeminent southwest Florida leader in kayaking, Grande Tours Kayak and Paddleboard Center. Their facility sits on Coral Creek in Placida, Fla., and just inside of lovely Gasparilla Sound.
